What exactly is a prepaid card?
A prepaid card looks and feels like a credit card but one of the main differences is that it encourages you to only spend what you load (eg. there is no overdraft facility available or credit limit).
You load money onto the card and then spend it in shops, online or take cash out of an ATM rather than spend money and then pay off the balance later.

- Load with Cash at any PayPoint outlet or Post Office branch
- Load with a Debit or Credit card online
- Have your wages or any benefits paid directly to your card
Spend
- You can use your card at over 32 million locations worldwide. You’ll see the MasterCard Acceptance Mark displayed in store, online or at ATMs.
Top-up
- If you need to load more funds on to your card, simply top up. You do this exactly the same as loading your card for the first time or via other loading methods.
